Magic dealer B. L. Gilbert (1870-1947) brought hundreds of effects to the magic world through his Chicago-based B. L. Gilbert Magic Company. Throughout the 1920s, his best-loved products were charming sheets of hand-typed instructions, prices ranging from a dime to a dollar. He offered hundreds of these professional-level secrets: card routines, mentalism, illusions, pocket tricks, and magic with eggs, slates, matches, silks, paper, bills, balls, and many other props. Some of the effects were classics, others by famous artists like Thurston and Anna Eva Fay, and many were developed by Gilbert himself.
This CD collects over 200 of these wonderful secrets, as well as several of his catalogs and lists, his two Patter Chatter books, Gilbert’s Up-to-Date Coin Act, articles, and nine Gilbert catalogs, all in convenient PDF format on CD with an index included for easy access.
