After studying at the University of Paris and the University of Southern California, Karr wrote for various newspapers including the Los Angeles Times before moving to Paris to begin his career as a full-time bilingual magician.
Karr's professional adventures have included performing all types of magic from close-up to illusions, with several private shows for Monaco's Prince Albert, Princess Caroline, and the late Prince Rainier, as well as repeat engagements at the Casino de Monte Carlo, the Monte Carlo Sporting Club, and the Casino de Paris, and on numerous national French television shows.
Karr has twice lectured at the Los Angeles Conference on Magic History, as well as at the Magic Collectors' Association symposiums, presenting talks on his historical research, and has worked as a magic history consultant and memorabilia expert for the History Channel, Houston Museum of Natural History, and many publishing companies.
